The Shimano Dura-Ace R9270 Di2 groupset is Shimano's flagship 12-speed electronic road groupset for disc-brake bikes – the same shifting and braking used by WorldTour teams. This complete kit gives you semi-wireless Di2 shifting, Servo Wave hydraulic disc brakes and a Hollowtech II crankset in the crank length and chainrings you choose, shipped from the UK with pre-bled brakes so you can fit it and ride.

Shimano Dura-Ace R9270 Di2 groupset at a glance

  • 12-speed Di2 electronic shifting – wireless STI levers talk to the derailleurs; the front and rear mechs are wired to a single internal battery.
  • Faster shifting – Shimano quotes rear shifts 58% faster and front shifts 45% faster than the previous 11-speed Dura-Ace Di2.
  • Hydraulic disc brakes – BR-R9270 flat-mount calipers with Servo Wave levers for strong, quiet, well-modulated braking with more pad clearance than the previous generation.
  • Lightest Shimano road groupset – roughly 270 g lighter than Ultegra Di2 and around 500 g lighter than 105 Di2 in a comparable setup.
  • Configured to you – choose crank length (160–175 mm), chainrings (50-34, 52-36 or 54-40) and rotors (160/140, 160/160 or none).
  • Ready to install – levers and calipers ship with factory pre-bled hydraulic hoses attached. No bleed needed.

Choosing your Dura-Ace R9270 setup

Crank length

Most UK riders between about 1.70 m and 1.85 m ride 170 or 172.5 mm. Shorter riders, or anyone working on hip angle or aero position, are increasingly choosing 165 or 160 mm. If in doubt, match your current bike or ask your bike fitter.

Chainrings: 50-34, 52-36 or 54-40

  • 50-34T – the best all-round choice for hilly sportives, long climbs and club riding.
  • 52-36T – the most popular race ratio; paired with the 11-34 cassette it still gives a 1:1 climbing gear.
  • 54-40T – for strong riders, time trials and fast flat racing where top-end speed matters most.

Rotors

Choose 160/160 mm for the most braking power (heavier riders, big descents), 160/140 mm for a lighter race setup, or no rotors if you are keeping your existing centre-lock rotors.

Compatibility

  • Frame: needs internal Di2 routing, a flat-mount disc brake frame and fork, and space for the internal battery (usually in the seatpost).
  • Wheels: any disc wheel with a Shimano HG road freehub (11- or 12-speed) and centre-lock rotor mounting, or 6-bolt with an adapter.
  • Mixing tiers: all Shimano 12-speed Di2 road parts work together. You can pair Dura-Ace levers with an Ultegra R8170 Di2 drivetrain, or upgrade a 105 R7170 Di2 bike one part at a time.
  • Power meter: want power? Swap to the FC-R9200-P dual-sided power meter chainset.
  • Time trial and triathlon: see the Dura-Ace R9200 Di2 TT groupset.

Dura-Ace vs Ultegra vs 105 Di2

All three share the same 12-speed Di2 platform, so shift quality is similar. What you pay for with Dura-Ace is weight, finish and stiffness:

Fitting and set-up

Because the brake hoses come pre-bled and attached, a competent home mechanic can fit this groupset with standard tools. You will need to route the hoses and Di2 wires internally, so check your frame's routing first. Pair the levers and update firmware through the E-TUBE PROJECT app – our step-by-step Shimano Di2 set-up guide walks you through it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Shimano Dura-Ace R9270 groupset wireless?

It is semi-wireless. The shift levers send signals wirelessly, so there are no wires in the cockpit. The front and rear derailleurs are wired to one internal battery.

Which cassette is included?

An 11-34T CS-R9200 12-speed cassette, the most versatile ratio for UK roads.

Is a bottom bracket included?

No. Bottom brackets depend on your frame (BSA, BB86, PF30, T47 and so on), so we sell them separately.

Do I need to bleed the brakes?

No. The hydraulic hoses are pre-bled and attached to the levers and calipers. You may need to shorten hoses for your frame, which then needs a top-up bleed.

Can I use my 11-speed wheels?

Yes. Shimano 12-speed road cassettes fit the standard Shimano HG 11-speed road freehub.

How long does delivery take?

Groupsets are normally dispatched within 5 working days. UK standard delivery is free on orders over £200. Some configurations are held at supplier warehouses, so if you need it by a specific date, contact us before ordering.
