Colnago C72 Disc 2026 Carbon Road Race Bike with Dura Ace Di2, ENVE 4.5 SES
For seventy-two years, one workshop in Cambiago has set the standard for what a road bike can be. The Colnago C72 Disc is the next chapter — and the most refined C-Series ever offered. Specified here in the definitive Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9270 / ENVE wheel build, it is the bike Ernesto Colnago's house intends as its statement piece for 2026.
The C72 retains the construction philosophy that no monocoque can replicate: seven hand-bonded carbon sections, lugged and assembled in dedicated Italian jigs. Each lug is shaped with the kind of panel-gap precision normally reserved for hypercars, giving the frame a visual continuity you can read from across a room and a ride quality you feel within the first 50 metres.
Compared with the outgoing C68, the C72 is 30 g lighter at the frame (895 g, raw, size 485), opens tyre clearance to a modern 35 mm, and introduces a subtly more relaxed stack-to-reach pairing alongside a steeper steering angle and longer fork rake — a geometry that is faster into corners yet kinder over a six-hour day. A redesigned rear triangle adds compliance without softening the response. Integrated bottle bosses sit flush with the frame; a discreet down-tube storage box hides a ratchet, CO₂ inflator and TPU tube.
The build elevates the platform to its ceiling. Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9270 delivers 12-speed wireless semi-electronic shifting and the most powerful hydraulic disc braking Shimano makes. ENVE carbon wheels add the aerodynamic and stiffness signature that has defined American carbon for over a decade. The new CC.02 integrated cockpit finishes the front end — 15 g lighter than its predecessor, with a redesigned flare for sharper handling and improved brake control.
With the right tyre and bar-tape choice, the complete bike comes in at the UCI weight limit of 6.8 kg.
Production is intentionally finite: 3,000 frames per year, globally. This is not a bike Colnago intends to sell to everyone. Reserve yours, or arrange a private fitting in-store.
